Ecoworld & Poplar HARCA
Aberfeldy Stories
Cultural Strategy, 2022

A cultural strategy for EcoWorld and Poplar HARCA to celebrate 10 Years of Aberfeldy Village, 'Aberfeldy Stories' was a multi-phase programme to tie in with several key development and planning milestones. Alongside our creative partner, a-r-c-s, we provided a clear appraisal and gap analysis of the works to date, including selecting elements of the current strategy to take forward, together with a defined direction and narrative for the placemaking team, with a focus on meanwhile, events and the arts.

Fast becoming the centre of regenerative fashion and textile innovation in London through an exemplary leasing and business incubator strategy and standing on the northern boundary of the East India Import Dock, Aberfeldy Village is in the unique position of being a site with both historical cultural importance and the potential for a future built on prioritising non-extractive practices through sustainable local design and manufacturing.

We worked with local talent, funding projects in which they could tell their own story through a series of timely events that made the connection between the client’s landmark achievements and people who could authentically champion the work of the last ten years.

“We are so proud of what has been achieved here in Aberfeldy. Over the years we have seen how Aberfeldy is a truly special place and having worked closely with our partners Poplar HARCA and the local community, we know that it is the people who make Aberfeldy what it is. To celebrate the community and their unique and remarkable stories is a fitting way to mark this major milestone, as we look forward to Aberfeldy’s next chapter and together create a place that everyone can be proud of.” - Heng Leong Cheong, CEO of EcoWorld London

“It has been a privilege for us to work with the Aberfeldy community over the last 10 years, so this new exhibition celebrating local people feels like the perfect way to celebrate this important milestone. Together, we will continue to truly transform Aberfeldy, making it a place where people feel proud and happy to raise their families.” - Steve Stride, CEO of Poplar HARCA
